Almuñécar has asked for explanation from the regional government on the town’s “marginalisation” in a project to clear river courses to prevent winter flooding. Environment councillor Luis Aragón says he “does not understand” why work which the Junta claimed to be in its competence has not been carried out in the municipality. He called on the Junta to “reconsider and take our town into account”.
