The incursion of a Spanish military plane into Gibraltar airspace on Friday caused a British Airways flight to be held on the runway for eight minutes while waiting to take off from the Rock, to ensure safe distance between aircraft, said the Gibraltar government. It said the incident came in the midst of Spain “deliberately causing problems for Gibraltar at our border and through its incursions into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters”.
