The local police officer who shot a driver in Marbella on Sunday morning has said that the incident was accidental and not in self-defence, according to a statement made by the Government’s delegate in Málaga province Miguel Briones on Monday. The shot was fired when officers stopped and approached a car after it skidded around a corner at high speed, before the vehicle fled the scene. The driver was later admitted to the Costa del Sol hospital with a non-serious arm injury.
