A new National Police station is to be built in Torre del Mar on a site ceded by Vélez-Málaga town hall.
The secretary of state for security, Francisco Martínez, broke the news last Friday with the announcement of the €4.7 million investment by central government.
He said it would provide the quality of facility that “the officers, the residents and the tourists deserve,” and would replace the present offices which have been in use since 1986.
