Marbella is to host the first-round tie between Spain and Great Britain in the 2018 Davis Cup, in a match-up that could see Rafa Nadal and Andy Murray face off if the two country’s biggest stars play for their teams.

Marbella’s proposal to hold the February 2 – 4 event at the Puente Romano hotel – on a clay court, which will favour the Spanish team – beat out the bid submitted by Granada, in a vote held last week by the Spanish Tennis Federation.
