The Guardia Civil have arrested a man they describe as the alleged killer of Irish gangster Gary Hutch, who was gunned down in Mijas last year. The murder of Hutch, who was the nephew of former Dublin criminal Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, sparked a deadly gangland war between rival Irish gangs. “Between February and August of 2016, in Ireland and in Calviá, Spain, there were a total of seven murders of members of the two organisations,” said Guardia Civil officials in a statement.
