Idaira Osuna, a young girl from Benalmádena who suffered from a rare neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy and was featured on a billboard to raise awareness for the condition, has died aged four.

A message was posted on Idaira’s Facebook page, Todos con Idaira, last Saturday May 28 confirming that she had “picked up her wings and travelled to heaven”. A post on the previous Thursday had said that the girl wasn’t feeling well and was due to be visited by doctors on Friday. The Facebook page is ‘liked’ by almost 30,000 people who have been following Idaira’s journey through photos and videos posted by her family.
