A leaked EU internal document suggests that the future of Britons living in Spain could be prejudiced by the British government’s failure to offer a secure future for EU nationals living in the UK. It states that the difficulties experienced by foreign nationals wishing to acquire permanent residence status or British nationality, “may colour member states’ approach to this matter”.
