THE Diputación de Málaga last week announced that a total of €14 million is to be spent on road repairs, maintenance and safety improvements to the provincial road network.
The provincial government’s public works and infrastructure deputy, Francisco Oblaré, said the largest investment will be €11.2 million in the multi-year contracts for road maintenance and safety, which will run through to 2019. A total of €5.6 million will be spent on maintaining 860 kilometres of the network, including clearing road-sides, repairing potholes and cleaning gutters. Another €5.6 million will be spent on road safety, such as new signage and informational boards.
