A NEW batch of free tickets to walk the Caminito del Rey cliff-side walkway at El Chorro was released last Friday on the reservation website for the popular attraction (caminitodelrey.info).
The newly available tickets, for the months of January and February, may be the second-to-last batch to be released free of charge, after officials recently approved the launch of a fee-based system, expected to come into force in April with the ticket price estimated at seven to 10 euros (CDSN last week). Reservations for weekend dates during the two-month period were rapidly snapped up.
The release of the latest batch of tickets came on the same day that the Caminito was selected by the Spanish government to receive a Plaque of Merit for Tourism in Emerging Destinations.
