A REMARKABLE video has emerged of a patient at Málaga’s Carlos Haya Hospital undergoing brain surgery while fully conscious and playing the saxophone.
During the 12-hour operation to remove a tumour, 27-year-old Carlos Aguilera read music and played jazz classics, including the standard ‘Misty’.
Last week, Sr Aguilera appeared at a press conference in the city to talk about his experience, describing it as like having been “reborn”. He told how he was given sedation and pain killers, but not general anaesthesia, and how he is already returning to play with the city’s Municipal Band, as well as a dance band.
