THE association of eastern Málaga municipalities, the Mancomunidad, has signed a four-year contract with an animal protection group in Rincón de la Victoria to improve the care of abandoned and unwanted animals in the 31 municipalities of the Axarquía. The news comes as one of the Mancomunidad’s members has cancelled an annual canine event after a wave of criticism from the public.
