A 27-year-old man from the northern Spanish region of Asturias, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2015, arrived in Marbella on Sunday after completing an eight-day, 1,000-kilometre running and cycling trek in honour of the late bone marrow donation campaigner Pablo Ráez.
Iván González, who had not previously been an athlete, took up distance running after being diagnosed with leukaemia at age 25. He has a chronic form of the disease requiring ongoing treatment.
