Orihuela Costa does not have enough tap water to supply all the new homes planned in the area, according to a report by the company hired to provide the service, Hidraqua.
A deficit of about 10,500 cubic metres per day was revealed by opposition party Cambiemos.
The infrastructure to transport drinkable water to the coast is already at 100% of its capacity.
