Torrevieja is now a ‘municipality of tourism excellence’ after being handed the award by the regional government.
The recognition was published in the regional official bulletin (DOGV) on Wednesday.
Mayor Eduardo Dolón highlighted that it would allow Torrevieja to access new lines of funding for tourism in the municipality and help to install infrastructure for visitors.
