A 160-kilometre-long footpath from the vast Cenajo reservoir in Murcia region to Campoamor in Orihuela Costa is being planned by Orihuela council.
Mayor Emilio Bascuñana said their idea is to bring the neighbouring regions of Murcia and Valencia closer together and ‘promote an alternative cultural, sporting and environmental activity’ which would be available to both local residents and tourists.
