Pedestrians who use the boardwalk in La Mata have complained that the coastal infrastructure has deteriorated to such an extent in some areas that it is too dangerous to walk on.
They highlighted in particular the section near the municipal border with Guardamar – next to the water channel which links La Mata salt lake to the sea – where the wooden sleepers have snapped and become dislodged.
