The regional health department has called exams to cover 8,056 places, which will be held in September, October and November and are expected to attract about 68,000 candidates.
The positions with most places are nursing with 3,817, and auxiliary nursing care technician (TCAE) with 2,737 – there are also 500 places for GPs up for grabs.
