Regional government police have seized five forged paintings that had been put up for sale for a total of €76 million by various private art dealers in Valencia and Castellón provinces.
The paintings include four fake Goyas and a fake Velázquez, explained regional councillor for justice Gabriela Bravo, and were accompanied by a wealth of documentation that was also falsified to gain the trust of buyers.
