The ‘modernisation’ of the train line between Denia and Alicante will continue with more multi-million-euro investments from the Valencia government.
The regional department for transport announced on Tuesday that this month they will start the tender process for the construction two more viaducts on Line 9.
These will be built over the Mascarat gorge and the River Algar.
Anaïs Menguzzato, the managing director of public regional train company FGV, highlighted the importance of these new bridges, which are ‘fundamental’ to be able to complete the overhaul of the light railway service which passes through Benidorm on the way to the provincial capital.
She said they would be offering new contracts for a total of €17 million, noting that Valencia is spending €160M on the revamp of the line.
