Two more more loggerhead turtles have laid their eggs on beaches of the Valencia region, continuing this record year for nesting.
Now seven turtles have deposited a total of 592 eggs since June 18 on the region’s shores.
And taking into account the whole of Spain’s Mediterranean coast, the total rises to 16 nests for the year so far.
The latest mother to choose the shores of south eastern Spain was spotted in Santa Pola in the early hours of Sunday morning.
She was seen by a member of the public in the area around the cape, to the north of the town centre.
