A guide has been sent to town halls by the regional tourism department which provides instructions for safe beach use.
Regional tourism supremo Francesc Colomer said his department is recommending councils set up a ‘security committee’ for each of their beaches with an individual manager who would coordinate all the services.
According to the guidelines, access points to the beaches will have to be ‘controlled’ so beaches do not become overcrowded.
The photo shows a Cartagena beach this week, with the Murcia region already in phase two (from Monday, May 25).
