Wilfred Weismann on the Letters Page (Nov.2) said he missed my sense of humour, and then asked if I was still alive. And said that he had corresponded with me when I was an engineer for Jaguar cars in Coventry. I have never been to Coventry and I certainly have never been a car mechanic.
Can’t argue with the humour comment though! Thanks, Wilfred….As an addendum to James Parkes’ reply to Weismann, yes, I am not dead or retired. However I did die and go to Heaven in ‘Good Heavens, No, Mr. Smith’, one of my books published a few years ago.
More recently, I wrote a short article for the extremely successful ‘glossy’ Female Focus’ Costa Blanca magazine. With regard to the ‘fully retired’ bit ….Life begins at ninety!
Warm regards,
Malcolm Smith
