We refer to the letters regarding the “feral” cats in Javea.
Javea Feral Cat Association is a group of people doing an incredible job in catching, neutering and releasing so called feral cats.
Very few of the cats that they look after are feral. Most are abandoned pets.
Owners should get their cats neutered to avoid unwanted pregnancies, (and kittens), many of which will be left to fend for themselves.
It is very disappointing that the “law” against helping these poor creatures applies to caring people, (like this group), who have to be registered with the police to avoid prosecution.
We support this group as much as we can, and will continue to do so
