The fire service was called on to carry out a high-rise rescue operation in Benidorm on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the provincial brigade reported that an elderly woman had suffered a fall in her 16th floor apartment.
A local team decided the best way to gain access to the flat was to abseil down from the floor above.
