MOTORWAYS bailed out by the national government earlier this year will be free to use at night from next month.
The highways – dubbed ‘ghost motorways’ because motorists often drive for long periods without seeing another vehicle – include the Alicante bypass off the A-7 (circunvalación de Alicante), the AP-7 from Cartagena to Vera, and several toll roads around Madrid.
