Two firefighting aircraft were called in on Monday evening when a blaze broke out next to the AP-7 motorway in Altea.
The fire was reported to the emergency services at 18.42.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil noted that the highway had not been closed during the incident even though the area close to the road was alight.
