A total of €14.7 million is being invested in improving the train line between El Albir and Altea.
Regional councillor for infrastructure and the environment, Salomé Pradas explained that a second track will be installed covering the 3.3km distance between the two points.
She noted that this includes crossing the 332-metre-long Cap Blanc viaduct.
