A number of cases of dog theft have been reported in recent months – and advice has been published on how to prevent this potentially heart-breaking crime.
In the past it was linked mainly with breeds considered as potentially dangerous, and dogs were stolen as sparring partners for others in training for illegal fights, but since the beginning of the pandemic the focus has changed to stealing them for breeding.
