The two historic dams in Muchamiel (Mutxamel) have been declared assets of cultural interest (BIC) in the category of monuments by the regional government.
The town hall said it had taken tears of paperwork and procedures to obtain this recognition for the Mutxamel and Sant Joan dams which are of medieval origin and cross the River Montnegre and its mouth.
