New Year’s Eve and other seasonal events and celebrations have been plunged into doubt by the rapid spread of Covid-19 infections.
Regional president Ximo Puig left the decision in the hands of town halls and many have cancelled their plans for traditional public gatherings.
Torrevieja council said that due to the ‘high risk’ situation they had decided not to hold their New Year’s Eve fiesta or the ‘Tardevieja’ afternoon children’s party that was scheduled to take place in the Plaza de la Constitución.
