Denia council is set to install 11 new fire hydrants on Montgó mountain.
Councillor Maite Pérez Conejero said the water points will be positioned all along the skirts of the mountain ‘between the highest-positioned homes’.
They will greatly aid efforts to put out fires in the protected area, she noted.
