A spillage turned the water in irrigation channels in Rojales and Guardamar del Segura an intense shade of blue on Friday.
The incident has been reported to the authorities to determine the origin of the spillage and whether it may be harmful.
Use of the water for irrigation was suspended while this was being carried out.
