It took more than seven hours for firefighters to get to grips with a forest fire that broke out in Muro de Alcoy on Sunday.
The provincial fire brigade reported that the blaze, which has burned an area measuring some 29 hectares, started after a farmer lost control of a fire set on his land.
The fire service was alerted at 11.54.
