REGIONAL councillor for farming Elena Cebrián has met with farming representatives to agree new measures to fight the deadly Xylella fastidiosa bacterium which has decimated olive plantations in Italy and Mallorca.
The disease, for which there is no cure, is spreading in Alicante province – but has only affected almond trees so far in this area.
