Facelift for ‘man of the sea’

One of Torrevieja’s best-loved monuments is having a refit.

Councillor for urban services Sandra Sánchez noted that the ‘Hombre del Mar’ statue was inaugurated in 1975 and had suffered erosion caused by ‘high exposure to the marine environment’ due to its position close to the sea on the Juan Aparicio promenade.
