Zurgena council has given the go-ahead to level a hill which caused a dangerous landslide more than five years ago.
The landslide, caused by torrential rains in September 2012, forced the evacuation of a number of residents and the temporary closure of business premises in the village centre.
The €100,000-project to clear the Las Lomas hill has been approved by the Diputación provincial council and has the backing of both the Junta de Andalucía and central Government, according to the local authority.
