The latest mayor of Albox says the resolution of housing problems, reducing the cost of water and maintaining a “welcoming community” are among his priorities after one month in office.
Francisco Torrecillas, 64, and headmaster of Albox secondary school for the last 20 years, is getting to grips with council business after taking office as the town’s third mayor in just over a year.
He was elected mayor on August 3 after forming an alliance between his independent Cilus party and the beleaguered Socialist PSOE party, in the wake of the news that previous mayor Sonia Cerdán was being forced to step down for legal reasons.
