The Socialist PSOE party has warned that councils will collapse if state-owned water company Galasa goes bankrupt in December.
Andalusian MP Juan Antonio Lorenzo (PSOE) said: “If the provincial council cannot avoid the dissolution of this company next month, it will be saddled with a €21-million debt, and local councils a further €20 million. This will blow their budgets out of the water.”
Workers at the company have announced a two-day strike at the end of the month if the council does not guarantee their jobs.
