The death of an elderly woman run over in Roquetas de Mar earlier this month has sparked calls for an investigation into pedestrian safety in the city.
The 82-year-old victim was admitted to the Poniente hospital on March 3 after being run over at a pedestrian crossing close to the main Carlos III avenue – a known traffic black spot.
However, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday (March 12). It was also the second serious pedestrian-related accident in Roquetas since the start of the year.
