Budget airlines Ryanair and Jet2 have announced new summer routes to Almería airport.
Irish carrier Ryanair last week said it would be launching a twice-weekly route from Manchester on June 3, while Jet2 announced three new regular flights in May from London-Stansted, Birmingham and Belfast.
Jet2, which began operating in Almería last year, will offer eight routes to the UK in total come the summer, with 17 flights taking off every week from the airport.
However, both Ryanair and Jet2’s routes cover only the summer season, and since Monarch’s collapse four months ago, Almería no longer offers winter routes beyond the south east of England, reducing an already limited choice of destinations during the off-peak season.
