Roquetas is once more in danger of being “overrun” by motor homes this summer according to the PSOE opposition party, which claims the council is “doing nothing” to implement new bylaws brought in last November.
Wild camping – the free parking of motor homes and caravans in car parks, on streets and beachside areas – has been the subject of resident complaints in the town for many years.
Last year a cross-party taskforce was formed to address the problem, after residents in Las Salinas and Playa Serena complained of caravans taking up parking spaces during the Christmas holidays.
