Police in Cuevas del Almanzora are investigating the suspected murder of a 38-year-old woman by her partner at the weekend.
The alleged killer, a Bolivian man who was married to the victim, María del Pilar, later committed suicide by hanging himself.
The events happened on Sunday morning in the rural neighbourhood of Burjulú, some six kilometres south-east of Cuevas, at the house of a disabled 80-year-old woman María del Pilar was caring for.
The alarm was raised the same morning by a woman friend of the alleged killer who sent her a WhatsApp message to say what he had done, and that he intended to kill himself.
