Andalucía could lose €190m in farm subsidies as a result of Brexit, the regional government has warned.
The UK is a net contributor to the EU’s common agricultural policy, which provides financial support to some 12 million farmers across Europe, including Britain.
But there are now fears the farm sector in Andalucía will be badly hit as the size of subsidies the region receives will be slashed once the UK leaves the EU.
The region’s farm minister Carmen Ortiz gave the stark warning at a parliamentary session in Seville last week.
