Plans for an Ikea store in Almería city are continuing apace after the local council this week approved detailed plans for the retail development of the land on which it is to be built.
Planning councillor Miguel Ángel Castellón said it was an “important step”, with the next stage being the commencement of work, planned for the first part of next year.
The Swedish furniture megastore signed up for a place on the new retail park in June, after identifying a high level of demand for a store in the province due to the number of people from Almería using the Murcia outlet.
