Ecologists have sounded the alarm over a possible illegal extraction of water from the threatened Rió Aguas in Sorbas this week after ground works started at a water source in an olive grove.
Environmental pressure group Ecologistas en Acción (EA) made a formal complaint to the public prosecutor asking for the works in the Rambla de Los Guapos to be investigated and stopped as a precaution.
The association suspects the works are being used to cover up an illegal extraction, despite the regional government stating they are legal maintenance works.
