Almería’s high court has upheld a sentence against Albox mayor Rogelio Mena banning him from holding public office for two-and-a-half years after being found guilty of withholding information from the opposition.
It is the latest in a string of cases against the beleaguered mayor, who last week faced an investigation for ‘cronyism’.
The latest ruling comes in a case brought by a member of the opposition Partido Popular (PP) party accusing Sr Mena of repeatedly refusing requests to supply information on council finances during 2013 in breach of transparency regulations.
