A clean air campaign mounted by ecologists in Almería and Murcia over the summer has concluded that the entire population of both provinces is exposed to above recommended pollution levels.
According to a study carried out by environmental pressure group Ecologistas en Acción (EA), data taken from 455 ozone measuring stations across Spain revealed that air pollution in Andalucía and Murcia regions exceeded limits set by the World Health Organization.
The news follows a damning report on pollution caused by coal-fired power plants as reported in this paper two weeks ago.
