Almería is the sixth most expensive province in Spain to buy car insurance, a new study has revealed.
The report by market comparison website kelisto.es examined the cost of an identical full cover policy taken out in each of Spain’s provinces. It showed that the same policy cost just €413 in Segovia but €730 in Almería.
Pontevedra was the most expensive province, where the policy had a cost of €864.
The national average was €623, meaning Almería is more than 20 per cent above the national average.
The price also varies from town to town in the province.
