A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing copper and other materials from the disused high-speed railway tunnel in Sorbas.
He was caught red-handed by private security guards after he smashed a brick wall to get inside the tunnel. Another suspect evaded arrest, however.
The detained man used a generator to power a large circular saw to cut away iron tubing installed for emergency fire extinguishing.
